Player Profiles: Daniel Noteboom

An interview with Daniel Notebloom

We thought it would be neat to pick the brains of some of the worlds most elite DoodleJumpers. First off, we went to the Godfather of DoodleJump, Daniel Noteboom, to find out what makes one of the greatest tick!

TheJoe (TJ): Name, Doodle Jump Name, Location right now.
Daniel Noteboom (DN): Daniel Noteboom, Daniel, Washington State, USA

TJ: How did you find out about DoodleJump?
DN: My uncle showed it to me on his iPhone in mid-August

TJ: What is it about DoodleJump that attracted you to it?
DN: The amazing “doodle” background drew me into it. The whole look of the game is the main reason why doodle jump beats similar games.

TJ: What was the first thing you did after your highest score in DoodleJump?
DN: I’m usually stunned at first when I die. Even if it’s a record I’m usually sad and happy that I died. Sad that I’ll have to start all over but happy because I’m sick of playing that game and I want it to end, but I don’t want to die on purpose. When I had lower scores I got super excited when I broke my record and I think I jumped up and down for a little bit.

TJ: When you are not DoodleJumping, you are usually doing what?
DN: School, doing homework, swimming, hanging out with friends

TJ: Is there anything about DoodleJump you think you’d like to change? Or is it the most perfect thing you’ve ever come across?
DN: I’d like there to either be a hard mode or a separate scoreboard for the themes. That way it wouldn’t take over 4 hours to break my record.

TJ: The Beatles or the Rolling Stones?
DN: Definitely the Beatles.

TJ: Describe, in as many words as possible, your favorite shirt that you own.
DN: My white districts swim t-shirt that I designed. The front has a ripped guy doing the butterfly. The back says in huge letters “I bust mine to kick yours.” The left sleeve says “Eat my Bubbles!” and the other sleeve says “iSwim”.

TJ: Favorite Theme song from a movie or TV show? Why?
DN: Theme song from Gilligan’s Island even though I’ve never even seen a show. My dad taught it to me when I was camping years ago and the catchy theme has stayed in the back of my mind as a reminder of the good times I had.

TJ: What is the one thing you have never done but want to do the MOST?
DN: Skydiving

TJ: What is your favorite Book/Movie/Band?
DN: Favorite book(s) would be the not widely known Three Vests Series. Picking a favorite movie is a really tough one, but I have to say Princess Bride for all the memorable lines. Favorite band would be Jars of Clay.

Chalk one up for the Beatles! And the Princess Bride… awesome!

Isn’t it Ironic that one of the best people at “not falling” wants to go skydiving??

This is the first in our series of Player Profiles. Sit tight – more to come!!

You should ask them about tips on Doodle Jump! Neat idea, though. I can’t wait to see more! And how do these people get such high scores? I’m at 214,000! Also, I’d like to see pictures of their stats board.
